What cellulite subcision treats
Visible, dimpled cellulite on the thighs and buttocks that persists despite a stable weight and regular exercise. Subcision targets distinct dimples; diffuse "orange-peel" texture or significant skin laxity may need a different approach, which Dr Benar will advise at consultation.
How medical subcision works
Cellulite dimples are caused by fibrous bands (septae) beneath the skin that tether the surface downwards. Under local anaesthetic, Dr Benar uses a fine needle or cannula to divide the bands responsible for each dimple, allowing the skin to lift and smooth. Because it treats the structural cause, subcision gives long-lasting results that creams, massage and energy devices cannot.
Every pattern is mapped by ultrasound before treatment, and a skin booster is injected in the same session to improve the texture and firmness of the overlying skin. One session per area is sufficient for most patients.

Is cellulite subcision permanent?
The released bands do not re-form, so treated dimples are long-lasting. New dimples can appear elsewhere over time.
Is there downtime?
Bruising for two to three weeks and a compression garment for a short period; most patients return to normal activity within a day or two.
Is it the same as Cellfina or Avéli?
Those are device-based subcision systems. Dr Benar performs manual subcision, which lets him tailor the release to each dimple and combine it with a skin booster in the same session.
